Dr Anna Pappa is aDFG Emmy Noether Junior Group Leader at the Technische Universität Berlin. She completed her PhD at Telecom Paristech in 2014 and since then she was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Edinburgh  and a ‘Marie Sklodowska-Curie fellow’ at the University College London (2017) and Freie Universität Berlin (2019). Dr Pappa is working on quantum computation and communication, with a focus on notions of security, efficiency, and the achievement of provable quantum advantage compared to purely classical means. An important aspect of her work is to bridge the gap between theory and experiments in order to exploit the full potential of quantum information processing. For her work she has received several awards and grants, including a Google Anita Borg Memorial Prize and more recently a Hector Fellow RCD award.
